Drunk Girls Gone Bad: A DUI Teenage Experiment

February 9th, 2008 · No Comments

I’m not really sure what to call this post, so I came up with “Drunk Girls Gone Bad: A DUI Teenage Experiment”. Before you get upset with this one (or the opposite), let me explain what we’re trying to do here.

Have you ever seen those late night infomercials? You know, the ones with the girls that do anything for a stupid shirt. Yes, now you know what I am talking about. What do you think those videos tell the average teenager? I believe that they reinforce a belief in young girls that they should drink and act wild to have a good time and make a good expression on the boys. I think they show the boys that they should get the young teens drunk to have a good time with them. Do you get my point?

Maybe this isn't the side of drunk girls that you really want to see. Not very sexy are they?

Would it be possible to use that psychology to twist things back to where they should be? Could we possibly come up with a video series that shows the truths about drunk girls? Perhaps a film that shows drunk girls partying, passing out in a car, and then the horrible consequences of that. Maybe a film that showed a group of teens drinking, and then they pile into a car and hit a truck head on because they were too drunk to drive. How about a video that shows these drunk college girls drinking and driving all over town, and then getting arrested for a DUI.

What do you think folks? Is there something that we can work with here? You can ask any drunk driving defense attorney (DUI lawyers)and they will tell you that the cases that break their hearts are the ones involving young teens that thought that having fun meant getting intoxicated, but then the fun ended when their friend died in a crash while the client was drinking and driving. There has got to be some way to bring this mess full circle.

Any suggestions?
