Self-Representing In A California DMV Administrative Hearing

My question is about a DWI in California.

I hope this thread is helpful to many... and some mysteries become less mysterious.

In California, when issues a DUI, the person has to go to court and a DMV hearing. They are independent, totally exclusive and do not share any information with each other.

But what the heck goes on in there, in the DMV hearing? They are supposedly governed by Memorandum's that are periodically sent to each county's offices, but these are not made public. In fact, all they offer the defendant is a short fold-out how-to, while they have total control over their license. So what should be expected, how do I behave during the hearing, do I present my side first or does the officer (if present), do I get to cross-examine, etc. :confused:

I've been unsuccessful in my research to find out the best way to defend myself at the DMV Hearing... looking for advice for rocks to turn over.
