Default DUI Provisions In North Carolina

My question deals with a DWI in North Carolina, in regards to a DUI conviction from South Carolina. North Carolina's law requires a mandatory suspension of driver's license for 1 year; what are the limitations for a provisional license during that year?

Is this your first DUI? It makes a difference in being able to get a provisional drivers license while yours is suspended.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the judge should have several options available here, and he/she may be more or less lenient with you. I think you can get a provisional license for work and school. That shouldn't be a problem, if this is your first DUI/ DWI.

Good luck!!

George
