University of Tennessee Football Player Busted For DUI

The University of Tennessee punter Britton Colquitt was arrested for DUI.On February 17, 2008 the University of Tennessee’s punter, Britton Colquitt, was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.  Colquitt allegedly hit a parked car and then fled the scene.  He submitted to field sobriety tests, but was apparently unable to complete them due to his visible intoxication.

Due to the arrest for drinking and driving, University of Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer has suspended Colquitt for five games.  Additionally, his scholarship was taken away and he will likely face more internal penalties with the football team.

This wasn’t Colquitt’s first incidence of alcohol problems.  He was suspended from the University of Tennessee football team in 2004 due to several alcohol related events.  He plead no contest to underage alcohol consumption and was sentenced to a year of probation.
